Accommodation in Puerto Escondido

Every place we list is on the map above: houses, villas, apartments, small hotels and budget rooms, from the surf end of town at La Punta to the quiet beach communities east of the Colotepec river. You book each one directly with its owner or manager, with no platform fee added at checkout.

Two choices shape a stay here more than the photos do. The area decides whether you walk to the beach or drive, and whether the sea in front of you is for surfing or for swimming. The type of place decides how much space and how much service you get. The two guides below help with both.

Questions guests ask

Do I book and pay the owner directly?
Yes. Each place is booked with the person who manages it, so there is no platform fee on top. Get the dates, price, deposit and cancellation terms in writing before you pay.
Do I need a car?
Not in La Punta, Zicatela or El Centro, where the beach and restaurants are walkable. In Bacocho, El Tomatal and Los Naranjos, a car or regular taxis make daily life much easier.
When is the best time to come?
November to April is the dry season and the busiest, with peaks at Christmas, New Year and Easter week. June to October is the rainy season: greener, quieter and usually cheaper, with most rain falling in afternoon or night storms.
Is the Wi-Fi good enough to work?
In many places, yes, but it varies from house to house. Check the amenities on the listing and ask the owner for the connection type and a recent speed test before you book.
Can I search by dates?
Yes. Set your dates in the filters at the top of the page and the list only shows places that are free for those nights.
